first destination of 2013

I wanted to share some photos of our trip to Cancun in the beginning of February.

We have quite a few adventures planned for 2013 (before any babies come)

Cancun was our first destination for the year...

As we left PA in the mid 20's..we arrived to Mexico in the mid 80's.

What a drastic difference, despite both being winter!
We had an awesome, relaxing vacation.

my idea of relaxing:
laying under the lapalapa..listening to the crashing waves..reading a book & the occasionally nap

my husbands idea of relaxing:
jumping the waves..swimming..laying in the sun..& more swimming..all day

We are quite different when it comes to relaxing, but we both love exploring.

Check out some of our highlights...

What an amazing getaway!
Thanks for stopping by. <3

happy valentines day, loves!

is upon us, my friends.

I love everything about this holiday..

I love hearts, red, and fresh flowers (and chocolate of course)

But most of all..i enjoy all the LOVE.

That's my favorite.

Showing others how much they mean to you..
that's what is special.
(and if its handmade: bonus points!)

I've decided to do a little valentines day wrap up.

This year I participated in a valentines swap,
{ via: lyndsey at the stationary place <3 }
where you were paired with a group
of other folks from around the world.

You had to make a handmade valentine,
and send it to your val pals (as I like to call them)
It was SO much fun!

Here are what I made:

Here are the ones I've received:

Our home was quite decorated for the holiday!
(any reason to decorate is perfect for me!)
Here are some just a few snapshots of our love filled HOMESTEAD:

& of course I did a few valentines crafts!
I made these heart crayons for my nanny kiddos:
I was quite impressed with the turn out! :)

This year for our first married valentines...
Mr. Mack & I had an afternoon together planned.
..lunch at the market
..strolling around the city
(and of course, sharing dessert at Just Cupcakes!<3)

Here is our valentines day in photos...

I couldn't have asked for a better day with my love.
(except for the fact he had to leave for work!)

God has surely blessed me with an amazing husband.

Wishing you all a day full of love!

XOXO

tea time tutorial

Well hello again.
It has been a long stretch of time since I last posted.
SHAME ON ME.
My creativity has been flowing quite a bit lately...
(most likely from being trapped indoors with this frigid PA weather.)
TWO things you may know about me:

Both of these come into affect with this tutorial...

I've always been a tea fan,
but I haven't ever dabbled with loose leaf teas.
I stumbled upon a little tea shop in my town.
It was fascinating. Immediately, I was hooked.
I decided that I was going to make some teas for my friends.
One problem, most people don't have tea infusers.
Awhile back I saw how to make your own tea bags!
PERFECT. I shall attempt that.
Here is a simple way to make your own:

Once you have gathered your supplies,
it is time to get started!

[cut out the 2 rectangle in the center portion of the filter]

[I used a contrasting thread,
I love the way it stands out with the filter!]

[I measured out 1 teaspoon per bag]

[fold the corners in & then the flap down.
place string under flap & staple shut]

[I used this convenient tape runner
to attach the string to the tag]
don't be afraid to get creative with your tags!

I hope you find this super easy & fun to do!
